Florence

Florence is about 15 km from Villa I Barronci and can normally be reached in around 15–20 minutes by car. A day in the city can focus on the Duomo and Brunelleschi's dome, Piazza della Signoria, the Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti and the Accademia with Michelangelo's David. San Casciano in Val di Pesa is also connected with Florence by bus, while a car gives more freedom if you want to explore the Chianti countryside before or after the city.

Staying in the Chianti countryside makes it easy to combine art cities and villages with time at the resort. Plan the main visit in advance, leave room for scenic stops on the way and ask reception for practical suggestions if you want to combine the day with a winery, a meal or another stop in the area. This way the journey becomes part of the Tuscan experience rather than simply a transfer.
